Horse Riding at Sunset Ranch

Brownie & Winnie says:

Welcome to Hollywood nearest ranch, our next gai-gai destination... Horse-riding. We always wonder what it is like to ride a horse, and we have a horse ranch just next to Hollywood, on the Griffith Park trail. So high time to ride one and enjoy being a rider...

It is a tricky way up to the ranch, since some GPS doesn't have the unpaved road up... Luckily, we have been on the trail before when we went searching for the Hollywood Sign, so it is piece of cake for us :)

So here we are, sunset ranch...

Lots and lots of horses...

There is even a mini Hollywood Sign (not the actual one...) on the ranch... haha

and dogs as well...

We are ready to get on the horse... Tahoe for Winnie & (I can't remember the name) for Brownie...
Horse riding is simple: Pull on the left to turn left, pull right to turn right. Pull both ropes back lightly to slow down, pull back hard to stop, pull back again to reverse. And to go forward, use your feet to tap the horse... Sounds simple...
Here we go...
The horses like to go so close to the edge of the trail, just a false step and human and horse will go tumble down the mountain... Have to keep the horse off the edge and they don't like it...

what a view!

Our guide, to make sure that the horse and human are safe...

After an hour of riding, we are back at the ranch... So cool. But also uncomfortable with us bouncing along with the horse... Wonder how you can feel at home on the horse?

Tahoe did a great job!!

They are given a good pampering after the workout...

the stable,
And the horses are given a new horseshoe... and they enjoy it.

This is the Chinese restaurant that we always eat whenever we are in Hollywood...
USA uses meter packing, so people just drop coins into the meter, and a timer will count down. Pretty neat way, at least no paper coupons to tear and throw away. More environmental friendlier. But sometimes it breaks down... pros and cons...
And we have spiderman here waiting for the crowd, so he can put on his performance.
Night view of LA... You can faintly see the powerful beam of lights shining from Nokia Theatre into the sky...
