A beautiful and sunny Saturday, time to go for a hike... in Griffith Park. And the trail to go is the Hollyridge trail, besides there is the Hollywood sign... See, Winnie is ready to go...
A 30 min drive up the mountain, via hollywood, and we reach desert region... Hot and dry...
Today is a new record high temperature for this day, 92degF... almost 30degC... this is hot for a Spring day. But a good exercise and warmup for our Grand Canyon hike from the rim to the Valley and Colorado River this coming 4 Jul (independence day). The temperature at Grand Canyon for Jul should hit >100degF... Winnie taking a rest and shade from the sun...
Quite a lot of people riding horse as they enjoy the trail... You can rent horse ride for the trail, the horses are smart enough and well-trained to go on its own even if you have no riding experience... So should be safe, as the horse also doesn't want to jump down the mountain... Next time, we will rent one each to try :)
still far away,
The view of downtown LA is nice from here,
Finally the closest to the Sign we can get, unless you really want to bash through all the vegetation...
A 30 mins walk back to civilization... and along the way, we saw this cute and small pony... Found out that this guy is the owner of the pony and just bought her for show at the ranch... So she is still under training, and he is taking her for a walk... So gum for us to meet up :)
