Singapore Chili Crab

Brownie says:

We are cooking our crab, Singapore-style, with help from modern chef best friend... instant recipe. Found the ready-to-cook Singapore Chili Crab sauce in San Gabriel. So bought a crab as well to cook our every own chili crab, a 2-pound hairy sea dweller. Just thinking of it makes my mouth salivate...

Once home, we immediately get set on getting the crab opened, inside cleaned, cut down to size and finally cook the pieces... hehe

Tada... done!

Nice and delicious, just as good as those found in coffee shops... highly recommended to use the Prima Taste brand of Singapore Chili Crab sauce, to get the most of your crab.

USC Women Soccer vs Mexico Women National

Brownie says:

It's soccer night, as USC Women Soccer team hosts the Mexico Women National team to a friendly match, at LA Coliseum. USC Women is the NCAA soocer women champion, while there is a whole community of Mexicans living in LA... So it is also a match of fans...

the womens...

USC to take the freekick, 'bend it like Beckham'

What a match! As the referee blow for the final whistle, final score 3-1 to the visitors. USC score in the early goal in the 1st half, but didn't build on the 1st goal and let in 3 goals, due to defensive lapse. But the Mexicans also outclass USC, afterall they are of an international level... a consolation. hehe

Valentine Day

Brownie says:

Happy Valentine's Day to all, and to Winnie :)
Got school today, so not going to celebrate...
But of course, can't do without the gift and flowers...

My "Heart" full with love...

Got it yesterday, and sneak it in during the night, to surprise Winnie when she woke up :) Glad she like my heart.. haha
Doggie-dog very shy of camera, don't know why... everytime she saw the camera, she will just run away or hide, like now...

A stock of flower for the beautiful, as I ride back from school. Just outside Arco, the gas station near our home... Looks like everywhere is selling flowers and valentine's stuff... Once a year to earn some money...

And we just thought of looking at our wedding website... it's still up! Brings a lot of memory just looking at the pages... Even the count-down counter to our big-day needs update, should be xxx days after our marriage.

Once again, happy V-day!!

CNY 2008 Golden Dragon Parade

Brownie & Winnie says:

Happy Year of Rat, and Gong Xi Fa Cai to all...

We are live in Chinatown, witnessing the annual Golden Dragon Parade, to celebrate Chinese New Year. This year is the first year for both of us to celebrate CNY out of Singapore, so a bit lonely... No relatives to visit, and US is quite quiet about CNY... Lucky still got Chinatown, at least got this event to look forward to. I think should be similar to Chingay Parade, let's see...

Still early, people moving around to get the best seat or standing location to watch the Parade... Parade starts from 230pm.

Parade starts with the LAPD making an entrance, with their bikes and formations. Looks smart and awesome :)

People here are really into parades, just form a group, sign up and participate.

a must-have for CNY...

Even scouts are here...

The world-famous Rat/Mouse??

Another dragon...

Beauty-queen of Chinatown...

LAPD, now on horses...

LAFD and their fire vehicles...

Queen of Cathy Bank.

We got hungry and tired from the standing and the sun, so get inside a restaurant for makan and to rest the legs and back... Noodles and fried rice for both of us... Even the Rat decoration are so cute...

When the parade comes to an end, we walk all the way from Chinatown in Broadway to Macy at 7th St, for a walk in downtown...

As we walk down Civic Dictrict, saw some floats parked there, so grab our camera, and snap some photos...

This is Supreme Court...

And a nice murai, depicting sports...

All in all, Golden Dragon Parade is more of a local-involvement theme, while Chingay has big names from around the world participating. Still prefer Chingay Parade, more entertaining...
