Martin Luther King Junior Holiday

Brownie says:

School is out for today, as it is Martin Luther King Jr Day. Some black guy who overcame racial discrimination, and brought racial awareness to this country. So they are celebrating in style, by means of a parade... And the local channel is covering and broadcasting this event live... Where better to parade then on Martin Luther King Jr Avenue. The road is near to our house, so we can go there to take a look...

We went to the road around 10am, but no signs of road closure and the parade, so thought we catch the wrong timing, went back home, only to find out it is on another part of the road... By the way, Martin Luther King Jr Avenue is very long, stretching for as long as few km... I also not sure how long it is... never seen the end of the road.

Anyway, by then, the parade is more than half way gone, but it is interesting to see the different culture of the people banding together for the parade... Almost anyone can participate... Seen quite a lot of people driving their own car, paste some poster, drive around in the parade and that's it... Maybe we can do that too :)

These cleaning trucks symbolize the end of the parade, as they pick up the rubbish thrown on the floor, and LAPD removing the barricade and allowing traffic onto the street again...
