Today is Universal Studio Day, we are going to enjoy a day of movie magic. And of course, visit the most famed Universal CityWalk... Universal is located in the north Hollywood area, so it is about 30mins drive from our place. And I think we arrive pretty early, around 830am, to be the first to enter Universal Studio... As we walk along CityWalk to get to Universal Studio, the area is deserted, no shops are open. Of course, people who come so early are not for the shops, but for Universal Studio :) We will be here later after Universal Studio closes at 6pm...
Anyway, some morning photos of what Universal CityWalk looks like in the daytime...
And here we are, at the entrance to Universal Studio. And tourists are already here...
Movie magic, here we come...
This is a cool ride, 3D & special effects are great and the live casts are good... Some more, you have Governor Arnold speaking to you... Must see for yourself.
This is "Shrek: 4D", 1 more "D" than Terminator... Means there will be more action than just 3D glasses...
We get onboard the Studio Tour to see the actions behind movie magic, and below are some of these wonderful pieces of the "behind the scenes"...
This is an actual pond and the big backdrop is painted to the required scene needed for the shoot...
"Water World" re-enacted by the crews, with the fire, pyrotechnics, and water effects... Sure to have a fun and watery time as we sit in the "get wet" zone...
& the action itself!!
The above are attractions on the upper level of the Studio, and now we are going down to the lower level to play more...
This is "The Mummy" ride... very scary ride, but shiok...
"Jurassic Park" ride, we didn't get onto this ride, as the ride will involve a plunge down a very high waterfall, and we will get wet. It looks scary...
Universal Studio closes at 6pm, so the only place left to walk is CityWalk... I think this is a conspiracy to make us spend, spend and spend... But CityWalk is nice at night, with all the neon lights up. It looks just like a mini-city of its own...
For those who don't dare to sky-dive (which includes us), but want to experience the thrill of flying through the air, this is a good alternative... flying inside a wind-tunnel. But not cheap, $30+ for 1 min experience... We may try this next time :)
Time to catch our movie with the 3D glasses... Interesting to see 3D figures moving around... Hope Singapore will have these theatres soon...
You need the 3D glasses to see the effects... and my camera does not come with these, so nothing I can do here...

All in all, Universal Studio and CityWalk is fun, hope that the Singapore Universal Studio will have these and more... :)
