ASTC Conference 2007

Brownie and Winnie says:

On 12,13 Oct, we are at LA convention center, helping out at the ASTC conference 2007. We know of this conference via the USC volunteers newsletter, and since we just got our car, so why not... And we get free parking, so grab the opportunity to see the insides of LACC :)

Both Winnie and Brownie are assigned to the pre-registration counter to help in the registration of the sponsors and exhibitors and general public. We are provided an ASTC t-shirt... Together with us, are other volunteers and California Science Center staffs, since CSC is the organizing agency. Most of the volunteers are old-timers with CSC, already volunteering their time in CSC. Some of them are even in the 60-70s... Waahh. Most of the general public are directors from the various science centers around the world... And 1 of the director from Singapore Science Center is here as well...

Everything is pretty cool, from the friendly staffs to the good meal provided... And after our volunteer shift, we walk around, looking at the exhibits, and peeping into the conferences...

And on 14 oct, MythBusters show up at the conference... For those who don't know who they are, just go to discovery channel, and you will know they are quite big shots. Basically, they test any myths (urban legends, grandma myths and even Hollywood effects...) to see if the myth holds any water, or if it is busted... Cool stuff that they are doing...
