For past 2 days (Sat & Sun), we have been traveling to Chinatown for Chinese food, the guotiao noodle soup and BOBA bubble tea are nice... To think that bubble tea is hot in LA, almost every eatery will sell bubble tea... Home sweet home.
Sat is just both of us, but Sunday is with another Sporean friend (Joelyn) we meet at Vagabonds Inn...
It just take us 40 mins and 25cents each by Dash (one of LA's bus service) to reach there... We take Dash F from Exposition Park (where we live), transfer to Dash DD (downtown discovery) at Figueroa 7th St (next to Macy's Plaza), and the bus will take us to the heart of Chinatown... simple right... For those who catch no ball, just go to the Dash website and see for yourself.

Thing about USA is the level of service. Everyone is so courteous, and patient towards the disabled. Our bus driver, on seeing a man on wheelchair wanting to get onboard the bus, goes to the exit door, activates the ramp to bridge the gap between kerb and bus, and patiently waits for the him to board the bus. Everyone in the bus are also patient as well... It seems like time has slow down as we watch the man wheelchaired himself to his seat... The public transport in USA is very friendly towards disabled personnel. We are impressed...
Very friendly public transport system
We manage to find where to buy Chinese groceries... at Far East Plaza. Not the same plaza in Spore. The Far East Plaza in Chinatown is just a 2-storey building... Btw, most of the buildings are 2-3 storeys high, there is so much land here!! Back to the story, we just walk pass the building, and see quite a lot of Chinese (I presume HongKongers since they speak Cantonese) eating there. So we just decide to eat there as well... The noodles are quite nice, just that there is no balacan to go with the noodles. The provided satay sauce is not bad, but balacan is still the best... I miss balacan :(
Place where we have Chinese food
The first floor of Far East Plaza is mainly makan places, just like the eatery where we have our Chinese guotiao... After a very full lunch (the portion is large), we just decide to pop into the nextdoor medicinal shop to take a look... and we just discover to our happiness, that the 2nd floor sells groceries... Sells dry food and snacks as well as Chinese medicine... Brands, Eu Yan Sang, etc. We buy lots of Chinese snacks, and the important rice cooker and water kettle...As for vegetable and meat, there is a supermarket nearby thats sells Chinese kailan and cabbage, etc... So it's big bag small big :)
We will definitely list Chinatown as a top spot to revisit for the Chinese food... haha.
On the way back, since still early, we visit Macy's Plaza, have a look around, and check out the Victoria's Secret store there. Girls sure don't leave the store empty handed, here's proof...
