Waking up to a Wednesday morning... it is a free day both for Brownie as well as Winnie, as Brownie does not need to go to school... We immediately wash up and prepare to go to Chinatown to shop for our depleting groceries, since we didn't buy them on Sat.

We set out to the nearby bus-stop to in order to be able to take the Dash F to 7th Street Figueroa so as to transfer to another Dash B to our final destination, chinatown.. This time we go to Chinatown via a slightly different bus route from Dash B as compared to the Dash Downtown Discovery that we normally take during the weekends... The bus route from Dash B is slightly longer as it goes a detour around the various offices in downtown LA before reaching Chinatown.
After reaching there, firstly, we go towards a dim sum restaurant named Mong Kok Restaurant to have our lunch as we are both a bit shivering from our hungers. We go inside and are allocated to a table for two by an honourable waiter. Looking through the menu, I also glimpse at the surroundings. It is quite an old restaurant having not much decorations or frills to admire from.. The walls lose some of its paint and look a bit dilapidated here and there. But it really does retain the flavour of a "Cha Can Ting" that can be typically found in Hong Kong. After deciding what we want to eat, we call for the waiter to take our orders.
Our meals arrive and both of us are quite surprised to see quite a "humongous"-sized wanton noodle soup as well as chicken and vegetable rice. I think it is pretty normal to see such a size in USA. They taste a bit bland but still to our liking, we slowly finish them up, while at the same time admiring the surroundings and customers. Most of the customers there are Mexicans though some of them are Chinese and Americans. There is also a small group of American sheriffs who go there to have their lunch. We can finally have a "taste" of how the USA sheriffs' uniforms look like.. We also order for some "Hak Kows" and "Shao Mai" before we set to leave the restaurant for our groceries shopping. Before leaving the restaurant, we also buy some Hong Kong-style cookies, the "Muah Chee" balls and a packet of "Fan Choy" wrapped in dumpling-style leaves to take-away for our dinner that night.
Then we set off to shop in a "Pasar Malam"-style market on another street. Winnie buys some personal accessories for herself while Brownie looks around the market. Subsequently after that, we go to the Far East supermarket to shop for our groceries. Along our way there, we notice the cost for parking cars at the carparks over there. They are actually more costly as compared to those in Singapore.. Upon reaching the supermarket, we look around for our daily necessities. This supermarket actually sells quite a lot of things that can be commonly found in Singapore. Hence we buy our groceries there, mostly foods.
Finally, it is time to leave the place and head for home.. We walk towards a bus-stop to wait for Dash B to transfer to 7th Street Figueroa before taking Dash F to head for home.
